The rainstorm warning signal issued by the Hong Kong Observatory  has been cancelled.
Heavy rain was expected to fall across Hong Kong, exceeding 30mm in an hour, with flash flooding and traffic congestion.
The Observatory said the thunderstorm warning issued at 2.30am on Monday had been cancelled, although a flood alert for the northern New Territories remained in place.
Flooding is expected to occur in the New Territories, especially in the San Tin and Ngau Tam Mei areas. More than 100mm of rainfall have been recorded in the past six hours.
