Price of comfort: high-end apartments available for rent on Hong Kong Island offer takers a chance to indulge

Two luxury homes are for lease, one in Chantilly building in Mid-Levels, and the other in The Arch Sun Tower in Kowloon

The luxurious clubhouse at the Chantilly building offers residents a change of scenery in comfortable surroundings.

Mid-Levels has some of the best homes – and developments – in Hong Kong. And as with all things luxurious, there is a price to pay for such homes in this prestigious part of town.

The area covers Bonham Road, Caine Road, Upper Albert Road, Kennedy Road to the north, and Conduit Road to the south. On its western side, it extends as far as the University of Hong Kong. The area is generally divided into East Mid-Levels above Admiralty, Central Mid-Levels above Central and Sheung Wan, and West Mid-Levels above Sai Ying Pun.

International realty company Savills has an apartment in Chantilly, a building situated at 6 Shiu Fai Terrace. The home has a saleable area of 2,816 sq ft and has five bedrooms and four en suites.

The asking rental price is HK$130,000 per month, and includes a parking space. According to Savills, one exceptional feature of the home is the height of its ceilings, at 3.4 metres – a rarity in Hong Kong buildings. Also there is a separate lift lobby for each apartment, maximising security and privacy. The building has a clubhouse with a banquet room, gymnasium and indoor heated pool.

Meanwhile, a 932 sq ft home in The Arch Sun Tower, just above Kowloon station, is available for lease. The residential tower is conveniently located among the various office buildings, including ICC. Marketed by JLL the asking rental price is HK$79,000 per month. The flat has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a private terrace.
