Brazilian football great Carlos Alberto Torres dies

Carlos Alberto Torres, a teammate of Pele and the captain of Brazil’s World Cup-winning team in 1970, has died. He was 72.

TV Globo, which employed Carlos Alberto as a football commentator for Sportv, and the Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed the death on Tuesday.

Carlos Alberto was one of the best defenders of his generation and scored one of the most famous goals of the 1970 World Cup, blasting in a pass from Pele in the 4-1 win against Italy in the final.
