Hong Kong's Chan Chun-hing swerves as he makes a turn in the men's mountain bike race yesterday. He completed his Olympic dream by finishing a respectable 38th. "This will be my last Olympic Games. I am not young anymore. I am very happy to complete the race and get a ranking after I was lapped in the Beijing Games four years ago," said the 31-year-old. "Thanks to the support of the fans, they cheered me all the way through. I struggled against the stronger and faster riders from the western nations. I am still not retiring yet as the 2014 Asian Games is my target. Then I'll see what will happen. I'll probably be a coach so I can help nurture Hong Kong mountain bikers." Only 40 of the 50 riders finished the race, with Frenchman Julien Absalon's hopes of winning a third straight gold ending when his bike punctured. World champion Jaroslav Kulhavy of Czech Republic won gold in 1:29:07. Chan clocked 1:41:59.
