Cool summer deals: the city woos Asia’s young couples and Hong Kong’s golfers
Visitors have a range of options for an enjoyable holiday during the summer
Sanya has launched its “Cool Summer” promotion until the end of September, emphasising golf, weddings and family travel offerings.
According to Fan Mu, director of the Sanya Tourism Development Commission, the campaign showcases some of the best [facilities] that Sanya has to offer.
“Sanya has eight golf courses, set against stunning backdrops, such as lakes, an ocean, mountains and rain forests, to suit the different tastes of customers,” he says. “Sanya has hosted several celebrity weddings and is known as a romantic wedding destination with its beautiful natural scenery.”
For this promotion, the government and the private sector in Sanya have introduced new packages covering the three market segments. Aimed mainly at Hong Kong and the Southeast Asian markets, these include a series of golfing trips from Hong Kong to Sanya, priced from 2,260 yuan (HK$2,651) per person and inclusive of flights, accommodation, green fees, caddies and transfers. Hotel options range from The Ritz-Carlton to the Holiday Inn.

The Dream House, a destination wedding company in Sanya, has launched a special wedding package for Hong Kong visitors that includes return flights to Sanya, suite accommodation in a luxury five-star hotel, such as the Mandarin Oriental or InterContinental; the wedding ceremony; and venue set up. Make-up artists, photographers and emcees for receptions will also be provided.
For family travel, many five-star resorts in Sanya offer their own packages.
