Kitchee face a tough task in the quarter-finals of the Asian Football Confederation Cup after drawing two-time winners Al-Faisaly of Jordan.

However, Kitchee - the third Hong Kong club to make the last eight of the regional second-tier tournament, after Sun Hei and South China - remain confident.

"You can't expect anything easy at this stage," said club boss Ken Ng Kin. "The draw is not very favourable because Middle East teams are always difficult to beat, but if you want to be the eventual champions, you have to clear all the obstacles along the way."

Ng said Kitchee would sign new strikers from Spain to strengthen the squad for next season's campaign, which includes the two-round AFC Cup quarter-finals, slated for September 17 and 24.

Both Sun Hei and South China have previously reached the semi-finals of the AFC Cup, in 2005 and 2009, respectively.

Sun Hei also made it to the quarter-finals in the defence of their title, but the Amman-based Al-Faisaly eliminated the Hong Kong side in a penalty shoot-out before going on to be crowned champions.
