Easy mixed martial arts win for Eddie Ng

Hong Kong fighter pummels Malaysian Peter Davis at Singapore event

Eddie Ng Gar-wei outclassed Malaysian opponent Peter Davis in a mismatched lightweight bout at the mixed martial arts One Fighting Championship in Singapore on Friday night.

The Hong Kong-born fighter extended his record to seven wins against one loss as he quickly dismantled Davis one minute 47 seconds into the first round of the co-main event.

Ng, 27, quickly moved in for the kill from the opening bell, got the take down within seconds before winning by submission (armbar).

“I was amazed by Peter’s leverage. He has very long arms and legs and he was defending well. I was wondering why I was still moving,” said Ng of Davis’ big reach advantage at 1.83 metres.

Ng has now won his last four fights inside the distance and moved closer to a title shot.
