High-flying Eastern on Saturday handed champions Kitchee their second defeat in a week but coach Cristiano Cordeiro said his charges should not get too carried away by their latest triumph.

Just last weekend, the ambitious club lifted the Senior Shield against their rivals, winning 3-2 in a final watched before the biggest crowd of the season (6,133) at Hong Kong Stadium.

This is an amazing result but we cannot celebrate too much because we haven't won anything

This time at Mong Kok Stadium, 2,416 witnessed perhaps the turning point of the season as Eastern stunned Kitchee 3-1 in the BOCG Life Premier League.

Victory not only proved that their Senior Shield victory was no fluke, it also ended the 25-match unbeaten league record of the champions, while maintaining Eastern's chart-topping position with 22 points from nine games

Kitchee are in fourth place with 14 points.

These are heady days for Eastern, Hong Kong's top club of the 1990s, but Cordeiro wants his charges to keep their feet on the ground.
