HK snooker star Ng On-yee wins first two matches in bid to join men’s pro tour
Former women’s world champ faces tough task in next round though
Hong Kong’s former women’s world snooker champion Ng On-yee continued her bid to win a ticket to the men’s professional tour when she trounced her second-round opponent 4-0 at the World Qualifying School tournament.
It's the first time she has beaten male players.
Eight two-year tickets to the pro tour are up for grabs in two separate competitions – Event 1 and Event 2 – in Burton, England.
Ng – who relinquished her world title last month in the final against rival Reanne Evans – cruised past Hassan Miah 4-0 in her second match in Event 1.

Earlier, she beat Chris Jones 4-2.
She had top breaks of 57 in both matches.
Ng will next play James Silverwood in round 1 of Event 2, before facing seventh seed Clayton Humphries in round 3 of Event 1.
She needs to win three more matches in Event 1 to reach the semis and claim one of the tour cards.
HK players Fung Kwok-wai and Lee Chun-wai are also in the competition and play their second round matches in Event 1 today.
