Five and counting for Sarah Lee as she hits her stride in Japan

Hong Kong cycling star is unbeaten after five races and clashes with Monique Sullivan in the women’s keirin final on Monday in Hofu

Hong Kong’s Sarah Lee Wai-sze will clash against Monique Sullivan of Canada in the women’s keirin final of the Daily Sports Cup in Hofu, Japan on Monday.

Both invited overseas riders won their second race in a row in southern Honshu on Sunday and will be the favourities over a group of five other domestic riders in the final.

Lee has so far won all her five track races in Japan and was simply too strong on Sunday as she easily beat her local opponents, sprinting to the finish from the last bend of the 333-metre velodrome after five laps with no other riders coming up to challenge her.
