Babar Hayat leads the way in Hong Kong victory over Scotland
Skipper hits unbeaten 79 to help steer his side to seven-wicket win at the United Arab Emirates Tri-Nations Series
Captain Babar Hayat, hitting an unbeaten 79, helped steer the Hong Kong cricket side to a convincing seven-wicket ODI win over Scotland at the United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series in Abu Dhabi yesterday.
Hayat and Waqas Khan, 35 not out, combined for a 97-run partnership to see Hong Kong through to 206 for three in 44.2 overs, easily overhauling Scotland’s 205 all out.
Opener Chris Carter had given the side a good platform, making 43.
Earlier, Nadeem Ahmed (four for 33) and Tanveer Ahmed (two for 49) were the main wicket-takers for Hong Kong in Scotland’s innings.
