Hong Kong’s very own Din-Dong made an appearance at the start line at Tsim Sha Tsui, not too far from where the cartoon cat has a three-metre statue on the Avenue of Stars.
This fry guy was sure not to impinge on any globally registered trademarks – his costume featured a large golden W.
Maybe it was just coincidence that he was the first runner in costume under the arch at the finish line.
Forrest Gump makes sense as a costume choice, as it is essentially running gear with the addition of a remarkable beard. Impressive nonetheless. And too fast for us even at the end of the race.
You don’t even need a costume to make the marathon a fun run as these runners proved by juggling all the way.
Registration for 2019 is just months away. Get thinking about your outfits as soon as possible.
