Seven-time NBA all-star Tracy McGrady has confirmed he is moving to China. "There are times in life that a new road presents itself and it appears this time has come for me now," McGrady, 33, said. "As I enter this next chapter, I am excited to play for Qingdao Eagles in China." Mainland media reports have put McGrady's one-year contract at between US$1-2 million. A Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles official denied those reports but declined to give financial details. Qingdao finished ninth last season in the standings for the 17-team Chinese Basketball Association. Defending champion Tony Martin won the second stage of this year's Tour of Beijing yesterday after dominating for most of the race and crossing the line with a huge lead of 46 seconds. The German cyclist, 27, is now leading overall in the last tour of the season, and is in a dominant position to retain the title he won last year at China's first World Tour calendar event. Despite an overall lead of 50 seconds with three races remaining in the five-day tour, the Omega Pharma-Quick-Step rider insisted: "Tomorrow is an uphill finish, and I am sure some guys will go really fast, so now I have to fight." Lance Armstrong and his team ran the most sophisticated doping programme in sport according to the United States Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) which released its report on the case against the US Postal cycling team yesterday. Usada said it was sending the report, which was more than 1,000 pages long and contained the sworn testimony of 26 people, including 15 riders, to the International Cycling Union (UCI), the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) and the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), before making it available on its website. Armstrong has always denied cheating. Reuters
 

Tiger Woods will consider joining the European Tour after changes are made to membership qualification. The Tour is expected to announce soon that participation in the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup and Seve Trophy will count towards the 13 events needed for membership. Woods says he last looked into joining the European Tour in 2000 when the requirement was 11 events. He said: "I will again look at it." Woods takes on Rory McIlroy at the World Golf Final in Turkey today after beating Matt Kuchar by five strokes yesterday. McIlroy is out of contention after losing to Charl Schwartzel. AP
