It's on: Pacquaio and Mayweather agree terms to most lucrative fight ever - report

Sources close to Filipino star say last obstacles have been removed

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have agreed terms for what will be the most lucrative fight in boxing history, according to a report in the Sunday Telegraph.

The long-awaited fight between two of the best pound-for-pound fighters is set to be announced in the coming days, the British paper reported.

“Manny has 100 per cent signed his side of the deal,” the paper cited a source close to Pacquiao as saying. "It is now over to Mayweather to close the deal and announce the fight.”

The Telegraph speculated that Mayweather may announce the fight before the NBA All Star Game on Monday morning (Hong Kong time). The paper said the revenue split will be 60-40 in Mayweather's favour for a bout that is likely to break all pay-per-view records.

A clash between the pair has been number one on boxing fans' must-see lists for years, but they have never been able to agree terms. Now the final obstacles have apparently been removed, it seems aficionados will finally get their wish, with May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas the likely date and location.
