Care Free Pegasus will get all the favours

Forget his last effort at Sha Tin, Manfred Man's gelding excels at the Valley and has drawn gate one and has a light weight to win again

A potential HK$10 million Triple Trio dividend awaits punters at Happy Valley tomorrow night, but it won't be easy and the Manfred Man Ka-leung-trained Care Free Pegasus has the light weight and low draw that should see him right in the finish as an anchor for the final leg.

Two runs ago he was a smart winner at the Valley mile, running on from off the speed, and this race looks to set up for his style of racing. Quite a few of these like to roll forward early and Derek Leung Ka-chun should be able to bide his time on Care Free Pegasus, then hit the line strongly. He disappointed since at Sha Tin but seems to be better at the city track.

Mighty K (Tye Angland) did everything but win last time out when run down late over this 1,650m course, but he is consistent and has a good record for Angland. There isn't much wrong with the Tony Cruz-trained Circuit Star's recent form over this trip and the Richard Gibson-trained Vital Gold, lightly-raced and stepping quickly to a mile, is an interesting runner at his first Valley start. Noble Boy (Zac Purton), Emperor Claudius and Winning Apex are also place hopes.

In the first leg, the John Size-trained sprinter Croesus (Alvin Ng Ka-chun) looks a banker material despite his wide gate.

The four-year-old is racing well, filling a place at all three runs this season over 1,000m, the latest despite having to work early from a wide draw.

Up to 1,200m, he again has a wide draw but it's a race without many recognised forward runners which may enable Ng to get across into a serviceable position.

The other horse which is bound to get plenty of attention as a banker type is Speedygonzalez (Tim Clark). He was well backed then had no luck in the straight last time behind Tomodachi after going back to the rear from a wide gate. He should be better placed from a better draw this time.

TT players will also want to include a freshened-up Kick Serve (Olivier Doleuze), Impeccable (Jacky Tong Chi-kit) coming off two wins in a row at this trip in Class Four, Seasons Star (Gerald Mosse) and Eastern Promise (Keith Yeung Ming-lun), having his first run for a new yard.

In the middle pin, punters face another tough one over 1,800m in Class Four, but Hei Hei Posh (Tim Clark) looks an ideal banker type.

Hei Hei Posh has been a model of consistency this season, winning three times and placed another three form only nine runs, taking himself from Class Five into Class Three in the process.

There the competition looked to become too strong, but back into Class Four and over his favourite Valley 1,800m, he can be competitive again and has the added benefit of being able to race handy in what does not look a fast-run affair.

Cool Bean gets Brett Prebble back on board and looks a serious danger. From a wide draw, he got too far out of his race last time, but had been an impressive winner over this course for Prebble prior.

It isn't hard to make a case for quite a few others as each-way chances, including the Sean Woods-trained Royal Knight (Mosse) from a better draw. His three recent runs, after a long time away from the track with a tendon problem, have been sound enough and he gets barrier one. In-form Victory Mascot (Angland), Diligent III (Alex Lai Hoi-wing) and even the nine-year-old Jamesina (Andreas Suborics), who has been showing signs of life again at the bottom of Class Three and drops a grade, should be included in combinations.
