In 2014-15 the "Post stable" had a mixture of successes, like Luger, Peniaphobia and dirt star Gun Pit, along with a few who disappointed or had their season curtailed by illness or injury. One of the 10 failed to win and the others put together 18 wins, with two Group Ones, a Group Two and a Group Three, and a satisfactory team effort to rise in the ratings by an average of more than 17 points. Alan Aitken has put together a team he hopes can top this effort in 2015-16.

AMAZING KIDS (T179). Trainer John Size. Rating 81. Heavily backed to beat stablemate Sun Jewellery in the final race in July, was never out of trouble and might have won with better luck. Won one of four but nothing wrong with the other three and the positive is that he kicks off from a nice handicap for a horse of his calibre. Looks an unlikely stayer but should have no trouble winning races, making his way to triple figures and that likely means the classic path in early 2016.

ATOMIC BLAST (T203). Trainer David Hall. Rating 50. Showed useful moves at the trials in his first preparation for Francis Lui Kin-wai before producing two worthwhile turf runs and had excuses from a wide gate over the dirt mile third-up. Hasn't looked anything special but stronger for the break and has moved to Hall, who usually puts a couple of lengths on stable transfers, and that should see him pay his way.

COUNTRY MELODY (T011). Trainer John Size. Rating 82. Made a good impression at three, winning three of 10  despite his record being muddied by bad luck and from turning up in those two straight races run in bizarre storm-hit conditions. Should take himself to triple figures and there is every chance he will graduate into Group racing. One run away from the straight was not much of a guide but shapes like he should handle 1,200m and get around a turn OK.

EASTERN EXPRESS (T192) Trainer John Size. Rating 60. The classic-age Size horse carrying the least fanfare after two beaten runs as a griffin over sprint courses. Over 1,200m second time out, Eastern Express should have won comfortably after a rare error from Joao Moreira but, considering he is going to stay, the dash he did show was a great pointer to his future. Off this modest rating, he will need racing and success to get himself into the Derby but that will be the aim.

IMPERIAL GALLANTRY (T028). Trainer Paul O'Sullivan. Rating 47. The upside to this gelding is that everything he has done has screamed out "stayer" but O'Sullivan has yet to get him beyond 1,600m. Closed well in four starts as a three-year-old, off different tempos, highlighting a willing attitude and a horse which stays and has the right frame of mind at this rating to overachieve in Classes Three and Four.

PEOPLE'S KNIGHT (T305). Trainer John Moore. Rating 64. Last year, horses from the previous term's griffin races looked a question mark at best and hopeless at worst but the griffin races of 2015 will measure up. People's Knight was beaten on debut in the wrong part of the straight course but solid in wins at 1,200m and 1,400m thereafter. The most expensive yearling Moore has bought, a lovely style of horse and a better three-year-old in prospect than Dashing Fellow, who won four and put 34 points on his rating last season for the same yard.

SOLAR HEI HEI (T242). Trainer David Hall. Rating 64. Yet another victim of the straight course on debut but two subsequent 1,200m wins in Class Four suggested he is heading deep into Class Two at least. In the first, he produced a barnstorming finish to win then overcame difficulties in a very differently run race at his last appearance when a young, inexperienced horse like him would have had excuses for defeat.

THEWIZARDOFOZ (T251). Trainer John Size. Rating 89. The toughest part of the 10 To Follow was which Size four-year-olds to leave out but this was never going to be one. Three unbeaten runs so far have branded Thewizardofoz as not only the most promising of a gun bunch of young Size-trained horses but the most promising PPG in years and he shapes like a superstar. Size will pick and choose his path to next spring where Thewiz is an obvious Classic Mile favourite. What happens then depends on how he stays but, by Redoute's Choice out of Princess Coup, the champion New Zealand middle distance horse of her time, there's nothing to say he won't run out the Derby trip.

UNIQUE AWESOME (T088). Trainer Almond Lee. Rating 53. Lee will again walk the plank regarding his licence but this maiden has potential to be the stable star, especially as he stretches in trip, and he starts off a very accommodating mark. His debut was especially eye-catching and he ran exceptional sectionals on occasions despite looking very new and green. There is an engine there and a summer on his back should see the mental side of his game improved as well as his physique.

UNNAMED (V024). Trainer John Size. Rating 52. Unraced and, so far, unnamed but has the look of a decent animal off three trials in New Zealand, culminating in a commanding win in February, albeit against modest opposition in modest time. Kicking off at this maiden rating allows a margin for error and he should make his presence felt with a win or two before we need to reassess his scope. Update: Has since been given the name RIGHT CALL.
