Firming late, Happy Homing was given a sweet ride one off the rails in midfield, swung the final bend five deep and quickened nicely to take control 150m out for a second Valley success this term. Specked late, No Ties made his run one off the rails ahead of midfield, straightened four deep and finished well to get up for second 100m out. Friends Of Yan Oi worked into the clear with three wider out upon straightening after travelling second from the rear after a slow break and finished willingly to grab a place 50m out. Favourite All Times Lucky settled fifth along the rails, briefly hit the front hugging the fence at the 200m and was one-paced over the last 100m. Optimism swung the final bend with two wider out at the tail of the field and was doing some nice work late. Sumarand Dragon ran on steadily without menacing following a rail's run behind midfield. Baltic Warrior was caught without cover the entire trip in fourth from gate 12 and came up one-paced over the final 200m. Jumbo Spirit didn't make an impression widest out after travelling second from the rear following a sluggish break. Cheers Victories was held up three deep and never properly tested over the final 150m after a box-seat run behind the leader Namjong Surprise.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (385)-KWAI CHUNG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

FRIENDS OF YAN OI began only fairly.

CHEERS VICTORIES shifted out at the start, resulting in JUMBO SPIRIT being hampered.

Shortly after the start, NO TIES momentarily raced in restricted room between HAPPY HOMING and ALL TIMES LUCKY which was taken in by CHEERS VICTORIES.

OPTIMISM was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

NAMJONG SURPRISE made the first turn after the 1000 Metres awkwardly and ran wide.

After the 800 Metres, BALTIC WARRIOR was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 700 Metres, NO TIES raced with its head on the side and lay in.

Near the 150 Metres, CHEERS VICTORIES was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN GUNNERS (Apprentice C Y Lui) which shifted in.

GOLDEN GUNNERS then continued to shift in and bumped NAMJONG SURPRISE.

Apprentice Lui was severely reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to react to his mounts shifting ground quicker than he did on this occasion.

Over the concluding stages, OPTIMISM lay in under pressure.

When questioned, U Rispoli stated that he had been asked to lead if possible.

He said making the turn after the 1000 Metres there were a considerable number of horses to his outside being ridden to take up forward positions and as YOU ARE THE ONE had top weight and JOYEUX A veterinary inspection of CHEERS VICTORIES and JUMBO SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ALL TIMES LUCKY, HAPPY HOMING and NO TIES were sent for sampling.
