Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (110)-YIP FAT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Metres
WILLIE INVICTUS and RED DANCER were crowded for room between TOP ACE and TRIUMPHANT DRAGON which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening.DALWARI shifted out at the start and hampered AGIAAL.
Shortly after the start, BEST HOPE and JAEGER BOMB bumped.
From the outside barriers, HOLMES LEGEND and HAPPY CONTENDER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1650 Metres, PO CHING TREASURE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of YOUNG RANGER (K C Leung) which shifted in when not properly clear.
K C Leung was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, YOUNG RANGER got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied to obtain a trailing position behind DALWARI.
After the 1200 Metres, PO CHING TREASURE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRIUMPHANT DRAGON which was awkwardly placed behind DALWARI.
After the 1000 Metres, WILLIE INVICTUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of YOUNG RANGER which got its head up when being checked away from the heels of BEST HOPE.
Near the 950 Metres, RED DANCER commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of TOP ACE.
After this, RED DANCER was ridden along to improve its position.
After the 800 Metres, PO CHING TREASURE became badly unbalanced when being checked away from the heels of TRIUMPHANT DRAGON when proving very difficult to settle.
In this incident, PO CHING TREASURE shifted out abruptly away from the heels of TRIUMPHANT DRAGON and bumped JAEGER BOMB, resulting in that horse being taken wider.
After this, JAEGER BOMB and PO CHING TREASURE raced tight for some distance.
Near the 750 Metres, WILLIE INVICTUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of YOUNG RANGER.
Close to the finishing line, TRIUMPHANT DRAGON got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of DALWARI.
A veterinary inspection of YOUNG RANGER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
TOP ACE, DALWARI and TRIUMPHANT DRAGON were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
Trainer A S Cruz was fined the sum of $5,000 for breaching Stewards' Instruction 32 of the Rules of Racing in that his stable strength has exceeded the allowable number since 10 October 2015.
2.
The Stewards tonight heard a complaint lodged by Trainer C S Shum on behalf of the connections of SUPREME PROFIT which is entered in a Class 2 race, 1800 Metres (100-80) to be run at Sha Tin on Sunday, 18 October 2015.
The Stewards heard that after earlier accepting the engagement on SUPREME PROFIT, Mr Shum was advised by Jockey Purton on Tuesday, 13 October 2015 that he would be unable to ride the horse as he would not be able to make its allocated weight of 120 lbs due to having to travel back from an overseas riding engagement on Saturday, 17 October 2015.
Acting on this confirmation from Jockey Purton that he would not be able to ride SUPREME FLIGHT due to being overweight, the Stewards advised Mr Shum that he will be required to find an alternate rider for SUPREME PROFIT in this race.
In the circumstances, Z Purton was fined the sum of $5,000.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 10 October 2015 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of CLEVER SPIRIT, DISTINCT COMMANDER, MIGHTY GAINS, HELEN'S CHOICE, LEADING HORSE, PACKING DRAGON, MODERN FORTUNE, HEARTS KEEPER, HORSE SUPREMO, GOLD DRAGON, UNBEATABLE GUTS, ROYALE ELEGANCE, CIRCUIT LAND, PHOTON WILLIE, SO FAST, BRILLIANT DREAM, NEW ASIA SUNRISE, AMAZING KIDS, PACKING PINS, LUCKY BUBBLES, LUCKY YEAR, SPICY SURE and INVINCIBLE FRESH revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of CRUISE CONTROL, HAPPY FRIENDSHIP, MIZZEN GREY, GALLANT ROCK, WINNER ST PAUL'S, EVERYONE'S CHOICE, THUNDERSTROKE, REGENCY DARLING, KING OF REASON, DRAGON BACHELOR, HEALTH WISE, WEALTHY FORTUNE, SURE PEACE, DASHING SUPER, CLASSIC JEWELLERY, ULTIMATE GLORY, HORSE APLENTY, NOBLE ALPHA, SUPER TALENT, AMBER DRAGON, HAPPY SURVEYS, CHATER ROCK, BIG FOUR, SKY MAN, SECRET WEAPON and TRAVEL FIRST (4.10.15) proved negative.

Dalwari was up pressing the leader Best Hope one off the fence in second, rushed to the lead four deep at the 180m and kept on gamely to make it two on the trot following an opening success at Sha Tin. Triumphant Dragon was prominently-ridden one off the fence, swung the final bend with three wider out and finished well despite a rise in class to grab second 50m out. Willie Invictus pushed into the open with one wider out following a rail's run in midfield and closed off well to make it close for second. Favourite Top Ace travelled fourth from the rear, moved to second 150m out and peaked on his run 80m out. Po Ching Treasure settled midfield outside Willie Invictus, lost some ground when checking off heels 700m out, rounded five deep and ran on steadily to just out-bob Red Dancer for a pay cheque. Red Dancer circled the field from near the back to lead 600m out, cornered a length on top and was gassed 150m out. Young Ranger faded following a box-seat run.
