Racing Incident Report
Race One: (241)-SOUTH AFRICA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Metres
ALWAYS WONGCHOY was slow to begin.Shortly after the start, RACINGFORPLEASURE and KING'S STEED raced tight inside DUTCH WINDMILL which shifted in.
Also shortly after the start, PERFECT TIMING and MY BLESSING bumped.
From wide barriers, FANTASTICLIFE and SPICY DOUBLE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, KING'S STEED got its head up when proving very difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of LE PEGASE.
KING'S STEED continued to prove difficult to settle and approaching the 1300 Metres shifted out when being checked away from the heels of LE PEGASE.
RACINGFORPLEASURE and SPICY DOUBLE, which were following KING'S STEED, were hampered in consequence.
For a considerable distance passing the 1300 Metres, due to the tempo of the race slackening, PERFECT TIMING commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out abruptly away from the heels of ALWAYS WONGCHOY.
PERFECT TIMING then got its head up and shifted out further before being shifted back in to join the main body of the field passing the 1200 Metres.
For some distance after the 1200 Metres, SPICY DOUBLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALWAYS WONGCHOY.
After the 1200 Metres, MY BLESSING was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 1100 Metres, RACINGFORPLEASURE travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed behind KING'S STEED.
Approaching and passing the 900 Metres, KING'S STEED again over-raced and was checked away from the heels of LE PEGASE.
RACINGFORPLEASURE, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.
Near the 850 Metres, KING'S STEED then shifted out away from the heels of LE PEGASE, resulting in ALWAYS WONGCHOY being badly crowded for room inside MY BLESSING.
RACINGFORPLEASURE and SPICY DOUBLE were again hampered in consequence and FANTASTICLIFE taken wider.
Passing the 200 Metres, VIVACIOUS WINNER was steadied away from the heels of DUTCH WINDMILL (O Doleuze) which shifted in when not properly clear.
O Doleuze was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he endeavours to keep his mounts straight.
After the race, it was reported that BLISS CARTEL had sustained wounds to its right hock.
A veterinary inspection of SPICY DOUBLE immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, SPICY DOUBLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SPICY DOUBLE, DUTCH WINDMILL and BLISS CARTEL were sent for sampling.

Dutch Windmill was too good in a weak race. He took control 150m out after enjoying a perfect ride one off in midfield. Bliss Cartel handed up soon after leading from a wide gate and came through along the inside to grab second 100m out. He's nothing special but has been threatening in recent runs and it's only a matter of time before he lands in the winner's circle. Fresh And Fresh was able to dictate moderate fractions after getting to the front 1,150m out and kept on gamely for a placing. He's held on much better for placings off lightweights in his past two starts and might get away with a race over the mile or 1,800m. Vivacious Winner was given every chance tracking the speed and only plodded when asked for an effort over the final 150m but it was still his best performance to date. Favourite Spicy Double continued to empty punter pockets this term when only getting going late without menacing from the back. He didn't have the pace in his favour but is a weak horse. Perfect Timing veered out approaching the 1,200m after travelling near the back. He's got a mind of his own.
