Race Five: (245)-LONGINES INTERNATIONAL JOCKEYS' CHAMPIONSHIP (HANDICAP)- 2ND LEG (Sec2) - Class 4 - 1650Metres
SPARKLING SWORD shifted out on jumping, resulting in TEAM SWEET and BEST TANGO being hampered.GIANT TURTLE and IMPERIAL SEAL bumped at the start.
GIANT TURTLE lost its right hind plate shortly after the start.
From the outside barrier, CASH COURIER was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 1400 Metres, TRUE COMMENT was steadied away from the heels of WINNINGLI (K Tosaki) which shifted in.
K Tosaki was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
At the entrance to the Straight, BEST TANGO was bumped on the hindquarters by HAPPY AND HEALTHY which attempted to improve between that horse and TRUE COMMENT where there was insufficient room.
HAPPY AND HEALTHY was then shifted to the inside of TRUE COMMENT to obtain clear running a short distance later.
Passing the 200 Metres, CASA MASTER was crowded for room inside WINNINGLI which, after being brushed by GIANT TURTLE, then shifted in abruptly away from that horse despite the efforts of its rider.
The performance of MONEY MAN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, MONEY MAN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
When questioned, M Barzalona (IMPERIAL SEAL) stated that approaching the first turn he was racing in a position one horse off the rail following TRUE COMMENT.
He said passing the winning post on the first occasion IMPERIAL SEAL commenced to travel keenly and was inclined to shift out and therefore he shifted out away from the heels of TRUE COMMENT.
He said IMPERIAL SEAL continued to travel very keenly and he then had to steady the horse away from the heels of SPARKLING SWORD and shift out further.
He said this resulted in IMPERIAL SEAL racing wide and without cover until after the 700 Metres at which stage he was able to take a trailing position behind SPARKLING SWORD..
A veterinary inspection of TEAM SWEET, BEST TANGO and SPARKLING SWORD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GIANT TURTLE and CASA MASTER were sent for sampling.

Favourite Giant Turtle was much too good following a box-seat run after putting the writing on the wall in two other starts following a stable change. He'll be at the top of the grade carrying weight following this run but might have the talent to win another. Smashed late in betting, Casa Master finished well along the inside following a midfield run to grab second 100m out. The gate was the key to his improved run. Good Choice ran his usual honest race to come from beyond midfield to grab a placing 50m out. He was suited by the drop back to the mile but the weight again anchored him in the run to the wire. Imperial Seal stayed on all right following a prominent run but did have his chance. He's looking forward to a drop in class over a mile at either course. Winningli knocked up 100m out after setting a genuine tempo up front. He's on the right track after holding on for minor cheques in three straight outings following a switch to the Valley from five outings and a win isn't far away.
