Chelsea suffer festive hangover but Manchester City blow chance to close Premier League gap
Jose Mourinho's men held to 1-1 draw by resilient Southampton but retain three-point lead in title race after City are pegged back by Burnley

Leaders Chelsea suffered a post-Christmas hangover in the Premier League on Sunday, dropping points in a 1-1 draw away at fourth placed Southampton.
But they were not alone. Second place Manchester City were held 2-2 at home after being stunned by a second-half rally from lowly Burnley while Manchester United had to settle for a 0-0 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal moved into fifth with a 2-1 win at West Ham.
I can't understand [why not] a penalty [when Cesc Fabregas fell under the challenge of Matt Targett]. I will go to the referee and wish him a good year and tell him he will be ashamed
Chelsea fell behind in the 17th minute at St Mary's when Dusan Tadic freed Sadio Mane, who coolly headed the ball forward before lobbing Thibaut Courtois.
Eden Hazard equalised in first-half injury time, scampering onto Cesc Fabregas' pass down the left wing and cutting inside two defenders before firing home with his right foot.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was not a happy man. He told Sky Sports: "I can't understand [why not] a penalty [when Fabregas fell under the challenge of Matt Targett]. Out of nothing West Ham manager Sam Allardyce starts speaking about Chelsea players diving, then another coach and another coach. The referee changes a penalty for a yellow card.
"The reality is there are penalties and penalties - this one was a huge one … I will go to the referee and wish him a good year and tell him he will be ashamed."
