Jiangsu Suning coach Choi Yong-soo backed by owner after Fabio Capello linked with Chinese Super League strugglers
Club have no wins and just two points from their first six games of the new domestic season, although they are into the last 16 of the AFC Champions League

Jiangsu Suning’s under pressure South Korean coach Choi Yong-soo has been given the potentially dreaded vote of confidence by owner Zhang Jindong, days after Italian Fabio Capello was linked with the Chinese Super League club.
Jiangsu are rooted to the foot of the Super League table with no wins and just two points from their first six games of the new Chinese Super League (CSL) season.
They have faired better in the AFC Champions League (ACL) and had already qualified for the last 16 with two games to spare before Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat by Jeju United in South Korea in group H.
“We are facing some problems in CSL. As a whole we all take responsibility and solve the problems together,” said Zhang told the team before Tuesday’s defeat by Jeju.

“I hope that Choi will make adjustments and take the team out of the trouble as soon as possible. There are many rumours recently, we need to block them out and do what we planned to do and prove ourselves by good results.”

Choi was appointed midway through last season and led Jiangsu to a second-place finish behind Guangzhou Evergrande having enjoyed a successful career as a coach with South Korean side FC Seoul.
Brazilian duo Alex Teixeira and Ramires along with Colombian Roger Martinez are in the Jiangsu squad, but Jiangsu have scored just four goals in their six games domestically.
“Today I came here to analyse the problems with all of you. The season has just started and it’s not a big deal to lose a few rounds,” added Zhang.
“We still have the ACL and CFA Cup glories to chase and we will also fight for a place in next year’s ACL.”
