Shanghai SIPG midfielder Oscar could find himself in hot water with Chinese football authorities after his aggressive actions sparked a mass brawl during their 1-1 draw against Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.

The Brazilian international was strongly criticised by the CCTV commentator Xu Yang after he twice hit the ball at R&F players as the match approached half-time in their ill-tempered draw.

Players from both sides became involved in an episode of pushing and shoving which resulted in the sending off of one player from each side, but the Brazilian midfielder escaped with any punishment.

Oscar first hit the ball from close range at Li Tixiang of Guangzhou before picking up the rebound and smashing it at Lu Lin.

Another Guangzhou player, Chen Zhizhao, who previously played for Citizen in Hong Kong, approached and pushed Oscar to the ground before players from both sides piled into the melee.

In the end, Li was given his marching orders as well as SIPG’s Fu Huan.
Guangzhou R&F players are restrained after the brawl.

Commentator Xu said, “Oscar is an big name international and when you come to the Chinese Super League, you have to live up to your reputation, but I feel his actions are not up to what is required from a top player.”

Shanghai SIPG manager Andre Villas-Boas meanwhile, said Oscar is not a dirty player while the Brazilian international said he always respects his opponents.
