Department store and supermarket operator Aeon Stores (Hong Kong) plans to open 10 new outlets in southern China to tap the rising demand from developers for quality retailers in their property projects.

Saleswoman admits theft of 108 items

A 27-year-old saleswoman who stuffed 108 items into two bags and then walked out of a department store without paying pleaded guilty to theft yesterday. Eastern Court heard that a plain-clothes security guard saw Chu Ying-sui filling the bags inside Jusco at Kornhill Plaza on July 24. She was arrested when she left without paying.
