Hong Kong is a long way from the churches of Harlem, but a popular gospel choir from the African-American neighbourhood in New York will make its first visit to Hong Kong since the troupe formed 26 years ago.

Some albums just grow on you and so it is with Cassandra Wilson's latest,Another Country. As with many other people Wilson had been to Italy and fallen in love with it so she went all out to evoke the country in the arrangements of the seven original songs she wrote for this album (which is fine), and also recordedO Sole Mio (which is not).

This is the album that unleashed the most murderous genre in musical history - the first seminal gangsta rap record. And yet, for all its guns, profanity and braggadocio, the perennial contention about gangsta artists - that they are merely documenting an ugly social reality rather than glorifying it - never rang so true as it does here.
