Nexen staged its biggest rally since July, indicating CNOOC's US$15.1 billion takeover offer for the oil and gas producer is unaffected by demands from the province of Alberta to keep management and jobs in Canadian hands.

Wonderful experience

My husband and I recently spent a week in this vibrant city. It was a wonderful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I would like to thank all the people in Hong Kong who took the time to provide directions or other information.

Housing index up

CANADA'S new housing price index stood at 136.2 in June, an increase of 0.1 per cent from May, Statistics Canada said.

The index stood at 100 in 1986. The house-only index rose 0.2 per cent, while the land-only index was unchanged.

Of the 20 major cities surveyed, six indices posted rises, seven showed falls and seven were unchanged.
