A final-hole eagle helped Tiffany Chan defend her Hong Kong Ladies Close Amateur Championship title in style at Discovery Bay Golf Club yesterday. The student, 17, who began the day two strokes behind leader Mimi Ho, fired a 71 to cruise to a six-stroke win. Ho faded to a 78 to finish second, while Kitty Tam's 73 earned her third spot in the annual 54-hole tournament.

Teenager leads ladies in Discovery Bay

Mimi Ho takes a slender lead into the final round of the Hong Kong Ladies Close Amateur Championship after a composed 71 at Discovery Bay Golf Club yesterday. The 15-year-old was consistent over the cliff-top layout, her home course, carding two birdies and one bogey in a one-under-par effort to steal a march on defending champion Tiffany Chan and first-round leader Tiana Lau.

Pethes secures seniors crown

Despite not being at his best during the final round, Joe Pethes (pictured) held on to reclaim the MacGregor Hong Kong Seniors' Amateur Close Championship title at Fanling yesterday.
