Relaxed gelding gets job done - beating a classy one, too

Ricky Yiu Poon-fai's double kicked off with Happy Champion, who drew a good barrier for the first time in and that helped him see off promising newcomer, Holyangleholy, in the third. In six previous runs, Happy Champion (Alex Lai Hoi-wing) had drawn low once - up the straight course where it is a disadvantage - but he relished a softer run yesterday.

Monster dividend as favourites fall by the wayside

Ricky Yiu Poon-fai's Polymer Win delivered the biggest blow-out when he scored at whopping odds of 135-1, the longest-priced winner of the season contributing to some monster exotic dividends. Polymer Win (Alex Lai Hoi-wing) joined Caspar Fownes-trained pair Victory Mascot and Windicator Power as the only 100-1 winners. The first three favourites all failed.
