An acid attacker is being hunted by police after a cyclist was injured in Tai Po yesterday. The rider, 46, was attacked by a man thought to be in his 30s at about 2.15pm. Police said the victim was on his way home at the time. A 56-year-old man drowned while swimming in Tai Po yesterday morning. The man disappeared after crying for help at about 8am at Green Cove beach where he had been swimming with his 50-year-old wife. Divers found the man 100 metres out to sea two hours later. He was airlifted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, where he was declared dead shortly after arrival.4 Aug 2010 - 12:00am

Five people, including three paramedics, were injured in a collision between an ambulance and taxi at the junction of Tai Po Tai Wo Road and Kai Wo Road in Tai Po shortly before 12.30am yesterday. A car hit a lamp post and a road barrier after the driver lost control of it while driving along Brides' Pool Road, Tai Po, at about 2am. The driver, 24, and a 32-year-old passenger were injured and admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital.
