To be honest I was expecting a wealthy, self-important woman whingeing about the home help, the space they take up sleeping on a shelf under the kitchen sink, their moaning about 13-hour days ... but the author of Hiring and Managing Domestic Help is in fact a house husband.

No surprise as HK rock drops from list

Many in Hong Kong were surprised when Amah Rock was included on the list of 77 contenders to be named one of the seven wonders of the natural world. The fact that the 15 metre stone pinnacle in Lion Rock Country Park did not make the grade when the list was reduced to 28 this week perhaps was not so surprising.

Out and about

Monolithic piles of naturally occurring boulders popularly known as amah's rocks, lover's rocks or yun yuen shek (conjugal stones) can be found across the region. The implied meaning of the Cantonese term mong fu shek - 'dreaming of husband stone' - is, shall we say, rather more basic.
