Colony in US$100m Amanresorts deal

Amanresorts, the hotel chain with luxury resorts in exotic Asian and South Pacific locations, looks set to expand worldwide in a deal with United States property investor Colony Capital.

Colony said yesterday it would invest, over time, up to US$100 million in the chain's immediate owner, Credicom Asia.

High living in a hideaway 'tent'

THE Hongkong-based Amanresorts Group is due to open its fourth resort in Bali this month.

Amanwana is an unusual property, and possibly unique, as it is a luxury resort made up of 20 air-conditioned tents - although these are more like regular Aman bungalows but with a tented ceiling. The resort is on Moyo island, off the island of Bali, and is designed more for families.
