Olympic body give up over merger

THE Amateur Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong have admitted defeat in their fight to halt the merger of the Hong Kong Sports Institute and the Sports Development Board.

In a tersely worded statement released yesterday through their deputy secretary, Lai Yu-wing, the Federation accused the SDB of being: Discriminatory in engaging staff.
