CLP's Brandler to head Kadoorie private office

CLP chief executive Andrew Brandler will join the private office of the Kadoorie family as chairman after he leaves the firm in the third quarter, said Michael Kadoorie, the utility's chairman.

Andrew Brandler, the chief executive of CLP for over 13 years, will step down in the third quarter of this year to join the private office of its largest shareholder, the Kadoorie family.

CLP to build US$1.2b plant in India

Power producer CLP Holdings has won the rights to build and operate a US$1.2 billion, 1,320 megawatt coal-fired project in India's Haryana state.

Its unit, CLP India, secured the letter of intent from Haryana Power Generation Corp yesterday, the Hong Kong-listed utility said in a statement. It submitted the lowest bid for the deal in March.
