Work on West Lantau farm project hits legal snag

Conservation officers are investigating whether a large-scale farm business run by a top government adviser and Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying supporter has unlawfully intruded into its adjacent country park area.

Heritage policy must balance conservation and development

The public can be excused if they are confused about the government's commitment to heritage conservation. From the controversial U-turns on Government Hill and the historic Ho Tung Gardens to the choice of appointees on an advisory panel, there appears to be a lack of consistency and priority in preserving our diminishing heritage.

Andrew Lam takes over from Bernard Chan at helm of antiquities board

A town planner who offered to quit the Antiquities Advisory Board together with Bernard Chan during the Government Hill controversy has been appointed its new chairman.

Andrew Lam Siu-lo will serve as head of the board for a term of two years with effect from January 1, the government announced yesterday.
