These questions asked by a key character in Akira, author-director Katsuhiro Otomo's 1988 anime based on his six-volume manga series, may also go through the minds of those viewers checking out this animated extravaganza for the first - or second or even third - time.

Shoppers and fans celebrate 100 years before the birth of cartoon character Doraemon

One of the installations at the Doraemon exhibition.

Crowds gathered around 100 unique Doraemon models for a very early celebration of the famed cartoon character at Harbour City - a century before he is born.

The "100 Years Before the Birth of Doraemon" exhibition is a joint effort by more than 100 Japanese organisations. In the cartoon, Doraemon is born on March 9, 2112.

Hello Kitty adds fun to Janet's wedding

Janet Fu was in her element on her wedding day. She married the man of her dreams in the company of her favourite character, Hello Kitty.

Janet, a fashion buyer, and Tony Kwok, a government officer, got married on November 5 at the Royal Palace Chinese Restaurant in Causeway Bay. The ceremony was hosted by one of Janet's best friends, dressed in full Hello Kitty costume.
