Greens burn up over 'dinosaur technology'

The environmental group Clear The Air is maintaining the pressure on the government to abandon plans to build an incinerator on Shek Kwu Chau. The group's chairman, James Middleton, has sent a letter to the Legislative Council's environmental affairs panel urging it not to approve funding for what he terms "outdated dinosaur technology".

Western art dealers' bet on China market pays off

Contemporary art paid the price of the stock market turmoil as Hong Kong buyers flocked to the safer markets of Western fine art and antiques, at a major art fair and auction last week.

The big gainers were Western dealers hoping to further establish themselves in Asia, especially in the vibrant China market.
