Hong Kong shopping malls record bumper new year sales

The APM Mall saw brisk business during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The cash registers have been ringing loud and fast at Hong Kong shopping centres, with average sales rising 20 per cent at the start of the Year of the Snake, thanks to an influx of mainland tourists.

'Bunees' egged on by graffiti artists

Ten children dressed as rabbits joined two internationally known graffiti artists yesterday, spraying brightly coloured paint around a Kwun Tong shopping mall.

But no one objected because it was part of festivities at the APM Mall, which has been decked out with 500 rabbit figures based on the cartoon character Bunee, to create an Easter theme.
