For Aron Harilela, joining the family business was only a matter of time. 'Ever since I can remember, I knew I would be in the hotel industry,' says the 40-year-old director of Harilela Hotels, which manages properties across Asia, Europe, the United States and Canada.

Hip happening for cushy apartments

A cocktail party was thrown for the opening of the Kush serviced apartments at 222 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, last month. Founders Alex Bent and Dinesh Nihalchand celebrated in style with their hip friends at what is normally a coffee bar across the street from the suites.

The space was transformed into a happening club with black curtains and groovy beats.

Care and cocktails

Harvey Nichols Fourth Floor Bar celebrated the handover anniversary with an event for a worthy cause. At Cocktails for a Cause on June 30, the department store donated 20 per cent of all the drinks proceeds to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, in the first of what it plans to be many Cocktails for a Cause parties.

Sinful ways

A quiet Thursday evening at the Kee was shaken up by a raucous show of sinfulness when KEE magazine and Hongkong Land recently held a 'Night of the Seven Deadly Sins' party.

Guests included Bulgari's Angelina Bleach, Swank's Mendy Cheung, Riche Monde's Francis Gouten, Gregory Prattley of Hongkong Land, and Aron Harilela.
