Asphalt firm's employees deny fraud charges

Unhappy with asphalt surface

If readers have used the Tate's Cairn Tunnel and the Lion Rock Tunnel, they will have noticed that the former is paved with concrete and the latter with asphalt.

Tate's Cairn has not been resurfaced for a long time, despite similar heavy usage by similarly overloaded trucks, but the road surface has remained flat.

Never-ending

The roadworks between Park'N Shop and Lobster Bay, in Clear Water Bay, have become a permanent feature.

They were there when I first moved to Clear Water Bay and they have been there ever since.

First, the Water Supplies Department had work to do.

Tipco Asphalt plant

Thailand's Tipco Asphalt Public Co plans to invest in an asphalt plant in China.

It said the project was in 'the initial stage of negotiation, and no action has so far been taken'.

The Nation daily reported Tipco Asphalt was discussing plans for a US$600 million asphalt production facility and transport project with the Chinese Government.

The cracks in Patten's path

MR Patten's recent visit to Prosperous Garden, the Yau Ma Tei estate,, was most welcome.

Residents of Prosperous Garden have been fighting for the re-surfacing of the section of Public Square Street in front of Prosperous Garden for months without any success.
