Students stage dormitories protest

Eighty Baptist University students braved heavy rains yesterday to stage a protest in the courtyard of a vacant building as part of a campaign to persuade the government to convert it into dormitories.

Schools' computing efforts recognised

Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) has nosed out Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to top Yahoo Internet Life magazine's list of the 'most wired colleges' in the United States, which was published earlier this month.

The university, in Cleveland, Ohio, ranked 13th when the list was introduced in 1997, but fell to 63rd place last year.

Polytechnic to hold big festival

THE best Hong Kong Polytechnic students and lecturers will emerge next month at the Polytechnic Festival '93.

The festival, held every three years, will be the largest-scale event ever held by the student union.

Divided into two parts, the festival will include a series of pre-open day programmes (from next Monday to December 10) for students to take part in.
