Ryanair mulls Poland-Israel link for Auschwitz school trips

Low-cost European airline Ryanair is looking at introducing flights between Israel and Poland to cater for Israeli schoolchildren visiting the former Nazi death camp at Auschwitz.

Auschwitz photographer dies aged 95

Wilhelm Brasse, who as a prisoner at Auschwitz was forced to photograph the experiments of Doctor Josef Mengele, died on Tuesday aged 95.

Brasse’s work at the concentration camp also included taking photographs of his fellow inmates for identity cards, resulting in a collection of 39,000 images that survived the war.

Oldest Auschwitz survivor dies at 108

The oldest known survivor of the Nazi German death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, Antoni Dobrowolski, has died at the age of 108.

Adam Cyra, who works at the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial and museum, said Dobrowolski died in the town of Debno, northwest Poland.

Poland’s oldest former Auschwitz prisoner dies at 108

Antoni Dobrowolski, who was the oldest Polish survivor of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz, died at the age of 108 on Sunday, Auschwitz Museum officials said.

Dobrowolski’s son informed the museum about his father’s death, its press office said on Monday.
