FCC member restored but to pay HK$74,000

The Foreign Correspondents' Club acted against the rules of natural justice in expelling an Australian woman for not changing her status as an absent member after returning to live in Hong Kong, the Court of Appeal has ruled.

Journalists' club in legal fight over expulsion and HK$90,000 bill

An expelled member of the Foreign Correspondents' Club is fighting against what she claims was her unjust expulsion, while the journalists' club wants her to pay a HK$90,000 bill. Baroness Baillieu's case was in the hands of Deputy Judge Simon Mayo yesterday as a civil trial got under way in the Court of First Instance.
