Gome sinks to all-time low after warning of losses

Shares in Gome Electrical Appliances Holdings, the mainland's second-largest home appliance retailer, plunged to an all-time low after it forecast a first-half loss due to lower sales and e-commerce losses.

Gome slumped as much as 18 per cent yesterday before closing at a record low of 65 HK cents yesterday, down 14.5 per cent.

Dalian Wanda buys AMC movie exhibitor

China's largest entertainment group, Dalian Wanda, agreed to acquire United States movie exhibitor AMC Entertainment for US$2.6 billion including debt, becoming the world's largest owner of cinemas.

Dalian Wanda runs 86 cinemas, with a total of 730 screens, is involved in stage shows and produces and distributes films on the mainland.

Profit warning sparks sell-off in Gome

Shares of Gome Electrical Appliances yesterday fell to their lowest in almost three years after the company issued a profit warning for the first quarter.

The stock dropped 11.43 per cent to HK$1.24, the lowest since June 2009, after the company forecast on Monday 'a significant decline in its net profit' for the first quarter.
