Trainer David Ferraris has endured a character-building season but the South African handler got his star three-year-old sprinter Bear Hero back on the right track in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Trophy (1,000m) and admitted he had made mistakes.

The gloss might have come off the very talented three-year-old sprinter Bear Hero, but the David Ferraris-trained colt returns to his best arena in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Trophy (1,000m) today and that can see him successful again.

Keen Tactics shows life after gear changes

Englishman Richard Gibson is enjoying a fine first season as a trainer in Hong Kong with 24 winners and Keen Tactics is ready to add to that tally.

The four-year-old turned in a solid runner-up effort in the Class Three Taipa Handicap (1,000m) last Saturday at Sha Tin behind Bear Hero and indicated he has a bright future.

Fionn's Treasure has the 'ability to go a lot higher'

The Danny Shum Chap-shing has established an early season foothold near the top of the trainers' premiership with predominantly Class Four and Five gallopers, but he may have unearthed one ready to climb much higher in Griffin Trophy winner Fionn's Treasure.
