For students and teachers at Belilios Public School in Tin Hau, November 7, 1967 at first appeared to be just another, uneventful day. Yet an incident later in the morning upset the calm and changed the fate of 14 girls.

Hiu-lam, 16, is a shooting guard of the Hong Kong youth basketball team. She represented Hong Kong at the Schools Interport Basketball Championships held here in May. The team won the tournament.

Creativity wins the day

The hard work and creativity of three Hong Kong secondary students helped them win a gold medal in the senior secondary group of a competition in Beijing. They beat more than 400 teams from Hong Kong, the mainland and Macau to win the honour, and were the only Hong Kong winning team in the competition.

A taste of hardship for HK orienteers

HK$2m raised at MSF Orienteering Competition

Nearly 2,000 participants joined the MSF Orienteering Competition 2008 at Ngong Ping last month.

They raised more than HK$2 million for the medical humanitarian relief works of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).

Despite the cold temperatures and heavy fog, the 1,800 participants enjoyed themselves.
