Medicine firm changes base

Chinese medicine retailer Nam Pei Hong will change its domicile to Bermuda just six days before the territory's sovereignty returns to China. The company will become an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Nam Pei Hong International Holdings, incorporated in Bermuda. Its warrants will be cancelled.

Bermuda Triangle' ship hunt

Hong Kong was likened to the notorious Bermuda Triangle yesterday after a court heard that three ships had vanished while in judicial custody.

In the most recent disappearance, the Chao Shun, an impounded cargo vessel, was spirited away from Tai Kok Tsui typhoon shelter on May 18 - along with its 13 crew members. It has not been seen or heard of since.

Lung Kee listing gets nod

The Singapore stock exchange has approved in principle an application by Lung Kee Metal Holdings to list its shares on the main board. The company is being spun off by Lung Kee (Bermuda) Holdings and directors said they would shortly determine the terms of the new issue.

China Merchants Hai Hong Holdings Co says its offer of shares to the public, part of its proposal for the separate listing of Ming Wah Universal (Bermuda) Co, has been 1.63 times oversubscribed.

The company said that at the close of the application list on June 20 there were 6,661 applications for 19.68 million offer shares.
