Paws for thought

What goes woooooshhhh ... eep eep eep eep? Me in a typhoon, hee hee.

Boy, was I glad not to be in the 852 this week. Little pup as I am, I shudder at the thought of being carried away by wind, kind of like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Well, I'd be more like Toto, I guess. Can you imagine what would happen with my big ears? Airborne!

A mainland vessel ran aground after apparently hitting a rock yesterday near Big Wave Bay, spilling thousands of cartons of chilled chicken products into the sea

Much of its cargo was left floating in the waters or scattered on the beach nearby.

Chan, for the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation, headlined 'Footpath constituted potential hazard' (South China Morning Post, May 10) concerning the footpath at Big Wave Bay, which was written in response to my letter (Post, April 7) about eyesores in areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Loyal to beliefs and friends

The sad news of the death of Liu Yiu-chu reminded me of her act of charity towards my old friend John Ayres, a story no one else knows about and which couldn't be told while either was alive.

Seeing red

WHY are beach guards so lazy? To reduce their work load a clever trick has been adopted: the beach guards put up the red flag at each and every opportunity, even when this red flag is totally inappropriate.

Put an end to greed game

WITHIN the realms of the High Island Country Park exists a bay of unparalleled beauty known as Tai Long Wan. Avid hikers will be familiar with it, as will surfers who go there to get away from the pollution of Big Wave Bay.
