Real Betis missed a chance to tighten their grip on Spain’s fourth Champions League qualification berth when they let slip the lead and had to fight to hold on for a 1-1 draw at home to erratic Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Monday.

Legco visitors to learn from trip to Bilbao

Five members of the Legislative Council subcommittee on the West Kowloon Cultural District are to visit the Spanish city of Bilbao from Sunday until next Friday. They want to learn about the success in regenerating the industrial city into an arts hub, and will focus on its arts district and the Guggenheim Museum.

P&O cleared on ferry safety

Britain's Marine Safety Agency says it has found no substance to 12 complaints received about the safety of a recent sailing from Spain by a P&O ferry.

The agency said it was not unreasonable on safety grounds for the ferry Bilbao to commence a recent voyage between Bilbao and Portsmouth in poor weather conditions which worsened during the passage.

Upgrade for Euro-Med service

Maersk Line and Sea-land Services Inc have upgraded their weekly Euro-Med Express Service with the deployment of three 1,200-teu (20-foot equivalent unit) vessels.

The service will be from Rotterdam to Piraeus, Thessaloniki in Greece, Izmir in Turkey and Algeciras in Spain.
