Steve McQueen is the Turner Prize-winning visual artist whose feature film debut Hunger has been lauded by critics since its premiere at last year's Cannes Film Festival. Set in the infamous Maze Prison in Northern Ireland, the film chronicles the events that led to the hunger strike in 1981 that resulted in the deaths of 10 Irish Republican Army prisoners.
