Drawn that way: tattooed prone to risky behaviour

People with tattoos and body piercings are likelier to engage in risky behaviour involving sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Stereotypical? Not quite.

Fast Beauty

Fast Beauty, a spa/salon promising results-driven treatments at a fraction of the usual time and cost, has just opened in Hong Kong. It targets busy people with high beauty standards to maintain, so we wanted to be the first to try it.

This week we test: nail oil

Manicure aids are the best at keeping nails healthy and looking good.

Paul & Joe Nail Care Oil (HK140/10ml)

As usual with Paul & Joe, the packaging is cute and colourful. The handle of the brush is quite long, which makes it convenient to apply the nourishing oil, and the sweet almond scent is a delight.

No pain, no gain. It's the philosophy behind a lot of beauty treatments. Gel nails, for instance, are long-lasting, but they can make you want to scream when you have to file them down to remove them. Enter Shellac.

On style, she rules

I'm rather of proud to be the sort of woman who doesn't have manicures, because I'm always using my hands, gardening, exercising, etc. I do sometimes wish I could have painted nails for longer than two seconds before they start chipping, so, when a friend mentioned something called 'shellacking' I was intrigued. Does anyone offer this in Hong Kong?

The hands have it

Even though it is almost impossible to function without them, we often forget to take proper care of our hands.

Your hands say a lot about you as a person. No matter how well dressed you are, chapped hands and rough cuticles give a bad impression. They make you look shabby and untidy.

On style, she rules

There is a Shiseido advertisement on display everywhere with a woman (a celebrity?) wearing this gorgeous metallic dress with see-through edging. I can't find it in stores. I feel like I've seen it before and it's driving me crazy. I don't want anything else.

Angelababy nails another publicity opening

Now that she's got a couple of film contracts and stylish magazine spreads under her belt, and is dating talk-of-the-town mainland actor Huang Xiaoming, Angelababy Yeung Wing has arguably outgrown her langmo image.

Perhaps hoping that things continue to go her way, the 25-year-old beauty (pictured) is now having a go at being a young entrepreneur.
